The island of Penang has direct connections to the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, as well as nearby countries.

For domestic flights, it is advised to arrive at the airport one hour in advance, whereas two hours in advance is suggested for international flights.

A limousine/taxi can be booked from the airport, and travelers can use Grab to travel to the airport, or other means such as bus, ferry and motorbike.

The estimated travel time from George Town city centre to Kuala Lumpur city centre is 3.5–5 hours:

Travel time depends on personal flight conditions and venue of conference.
